Our Story

Rancho Nuez was started by Tom Cooper in 1969 and is locally referred to as “Coopers Nut House”. He was a Macadamia Nut tree specialist who planted over 36 different varieties (some of which he invented), traveled the world studying and consulting, and sold nursery trees and Macadamia Nut products. He also invented and patented his nut processing machinery. Cooper had a roadside stand where he sold all of his crop and creations (Polaroid of the original stand). The property was taken over by Brooke Frederick in 2017. Brooke is now working on the ranch with the hopes of bringing the Macadamia Nut farm back in to full production.
